Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to hand down life sentences Tuesday to Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, and Tal Alexander, 40. The brothers were convicted in March on sex trafficking charges. Their lawyers are asking for 15-year terms, the minimum allowed.
Nearly a dozen women who say they were victimized plan to speak at the sentencing in New York. Prosecutors said at least 70 women were raped or sexually assaulted by the men, and a court filing called the trio "serial rapists." The assaults began as early as 2001 or 2002, when the brothers were in high school.
Oren and Tal Alexander were known as real estate's "A Team" for high-end sales and celebrity clients at Douglas Elliman before starting their own firm. Alon Alexander ran the family's private security company. All three were arrested in 2024 and have been held without bail since.
U.S. District Judge Valerie E. Caproni has said the brothers should not be housed at the same prison, calling them a bad influence on each other. Their lawyers plan to argue that the three belong together behind bars. Defense lawyers said the brothers maintain their innocence but apologize for conduct they admit was "insensitive toward the feelings of certain women at certain times."
