A new retail space opened in north Moorhead this month, offering deep discounts on high-end home goods.

Kyle Jaeger, a father of six who works mornings at FedEx, launched Jaeger Barn at 1304 15th Ave. N. The store focuses on LG scratch-and-dent appliances and comfort-return mattresses. Jaeger operates this location alongside his existing Same Day Mattress store in Dilworth.

The inventory consists of items that are nearly new rather than fully used. Jaeger explained that many customers return expensive mattresses due to comfort preferences. For a bed costing $4,000, he noted, the fit must be perfect. The store cleans, sanitizes, and repackages these returns. Customers can purchase these high-end beds for 70% off the original price because the foams, springs, and tops remain identical to new units.

The appliance selection includes top brands with minor, tier-one blemishes. Jaeger buys these units at a reduced cost and passes those savings to buyers. He pointed to a washer-dryer unit that has no visible damage but sells for half its typical price of $2,700.

Package deals are available for kitchen remodels. A fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and stove can be purchased together for between $2,500 and $3,500. Jaeger said that same set of appliances would cost closer to $6,000 at other retailers in the area.

The store offers financing through five different companies. Buyers with good credit can qualify for up to 60 months with no interest. Options also exist for customers without credit history. Delivery is free for Northside locations, where Jaeger can load items into a trailer and drop them off. Southside delivery fees run about $100, a cost Jaeger describes as breaking even rather than a profit center.

Jaeger Barn is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. He plans to extend hours to 8 p.m. once the staff is fully in place.
