Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell confirmed Wednesday that he has full movement in his lower body, offering a positive update three days after an alarming on-field injury. The 26-year-old was carted off the field and hospitalized following Sunday's matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. In a statement released by the team, Campbell addressed concerns about a potential catastrophic injury and shared his progress with supporters.

The incident occurred early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray completed a 10-yard pass to tight end T.J. Hockenson. Campbell and teammate Eric O'Neill brought Hockenson down in what looked like a routine tackle. Campbell, a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, fell face down on the turf and remained motionless while medical staff rushed to his side. He was secured on a medical cart and transported to the hospital.

Campbell used his first public comments since the injury to thank fans for their outpouring of support. He described the response from the community as overwhelming and said the prayers and messages meant more to him and his family than words could express. He also expressed gratitude to the medical staff at Henry Ford Hospital and the doctors who treated him.

The linebacker detailed his physical recovery in the statement. He said he is incredibly encouraged by the progress he has made in such a short period. While he has regained full movement in his legs, he is continuing to work on mobility in his upper body. He described his mindset as optimistic, noting that he is taking the recovery process one day at a time.

Campbell credited his faith for helping him stay positive during the recovery. He stated that his faith in God has never been stronger and that he trusts in the plan for his future. He also praised the Detroit Lions organization, coaches, and teammates for their support, adding that he is proud to be part of the group and could not ask to be surrounded by better people.

Looking ahead, Campbell drew inspiration from the city of Detroit. He noted that the city is built on toughness, resilience, and grit. He said he plans to approach his medical challenges with that same determination. The update serves as a clear indicator of his improving condition following the Sunday incident.
