A 28-year-old man was taken into custody on Wednesday after police said he admitted to firing a weapon at a victim during an earlier fight in Nashville. The incident occurred on October 16, and authorities now charge Andre Harris with attempted criminal homicide.

Witnesses at the scene on Plus Park Boulevard reported that two individuals exchanged gunfire. Officers responding to the call found a trail of blood and multiple spent shell casings near the location, according to a police affidavit.

Detectives reviewed camera footage from a nearby building while building their case. The video shows Harris walking away from the victim, turning back, and closing the distance while firing his weapon.

Before this arrest, Harris was already wanted for failing to appear in court on several charges. Those prior charges include possessing controlled substances with intent, being a felon in possession with a handgun, theft of a firearm, and evading arrest.

Harris told investigators that he shot the other person because of an ongoing feud between them. He stated he did not recall the victim firing a gun during the incident. Harris said his decision to shoot was his own volition and that he intended to kill the victim.
